You only get one free workout — This app lets you turn on the timer twice before forcing you to pay for the premium pass. It says the premium pass is “optional” but it isn’t, paying for it is the only way to use the app

Paid Timer — Subscription for a timer??? LOL

  • Interval Timer - Tabata Timer1star· Sep 4, 2026

Used to be great — Not sure what they are doing here but however the app was updated will no longer recognize my premium subscription that auto renews. Really disappointing. The app used to be great. And now I can’t use it. Even worse. The submit button for feedback doesn’t work. Stuck in an endless loop with no support and an app that I paid for until next June.

What premium — I paid $9.99 for the premium account and it still opens the pop up selling me the premium features every time I open. It’s like the upgrade didn’t take to my app even though they charged me for it. I tried to contact support for help but haven’t heard back in weeks

  • Timer Plus - Workouts Timer2star· Aug 18, 2026

Ads — Was good. Now they want to advertise to me and have now asked for personal data.

  • Simple Interval Timer1star· Aug 14, 2026

giant obnoxious banner asking to stalk you — this app could be vibe coded but it demands that you give it permission to stalk you to “give you better ads”

Who’s in it

All 11 apps counted in this market · 2026-09-02.

Interval Timer is the biggest app here that has stopped shipping. Last update 14 months ago, at 12,015,331 installs.

Apps count as part of a market for 90 days after they last appear in it. Installs are Google Play's own count, last captured 2026-09-13. 6 of 11 apps have an Android listing we could match. A dash means we could not pair the two stores, not that the app is absent from Play. Amber marks an app that has not shipped in over 90 days, the 90th percentile across every market we hold.

How this is counted

Every number is arithmetic over the reviews we hold, re-counted weekly: nothing modelled, nothing scored. Themes come from a frozen pattern classifier rather than a model reading reviews, so the same review always lands in the same bucket. A market rate is pooled across every app here; the store rate is the same count across 12,743 apps. A complaint is only called a gap when at least half the market carries it, at least 20 reviews are behind it, and the market’s rate is elevated above the store’s, the same cutoff used everywhere on this site, because a problem concentrated in one app is that app’s bug, and a problem every app on the store shares is nobody’s gap.
