How this is scored

Weighted mean of the sub-scores, weights re-normalized over whatever is computable (nobody's fixed it 25 · how far above typical 20 · how angry 15 · people in the market 15 · room to enter 15 · willingness to pay 10). Fixed anchors map each count to 0–100: breadth and willingness-to-pay are straight shares; the gap’s heat tops out at 4times the store’s typical rate; anger scores star3 as 0 and star1.5 as 100; reach runs 104 to 107ratings on a log scale; room to enter is one minus the leader’s share of shelf ratings. A factor that cannot be counted is dropped and named — never imputed. The site’s one composite (#115, owner decision 2026-08-15); cited industry benchmarks are never blended in.

Should be zero stars — Charged multiple times in same week for a subscription I cancelled! Won't issue a refund. Total rip off!Prequel: Photo & Video Editor · 1star · Aug 24, 2026
Rip off — Even if you pay for the subscription they severely limit what you can use. It’s such a rip off.Prequel: Photo & Video Editor · 1star · Aug 24, 2026
Subscription greed — This app was and is amazing. Unfortunately now that the developers have gotten into the greed due to popularity growth, this app is completely unusable unless you feed into the subscription. It’s priced at a decent amount for a month, but would cause overuse and useless edits because of trying to get their moneys worth. Very disappointed it has gotten this way.Prequel: Photo & Video Editor · 3star · Aug 23, 2026

App does not work on latest max iphone — Refuses to open throws error and says to restart. Worked on previous iphones.Lightroom: AI Photo Editor · 3star · Aug 19, 2026
App breaks — After a year of using this app, it definitely had served me well and performed up to par at every capacity until it decided to fully stop working. Despite paying for a monthly premium, the app would refuse to launch and crash at the Home Screen endlessly. Poor execution — This one sounds like it should just keep getting better and better. But it doesn’t. It doesn’t come through in the execution. It’s slow and inconsistent and it freezes up. Simple functions just hang for no apparent reason. I’m tired of waiting for this app to work right and I’m uninstalling it.Lightroom: AI Photo Editor · 2star · Aug 15, 2026

Do not use — Free version is useless and paid version is hidden. I just spent 5 minutes editing a picture to realize that something I used was part of the paid version and now I can’t download the picture. But I don’t know what it was and I can’t just remove that one aspect. Don’t download this unless you’re prepared to use the paid version. IT’S A TRAP.Prequel: Photo & Video Editor · 1star · Jul 30, 2026
money grabbers — prices for this are genuinely INSANE. i wouldn’t mind if there were more than 3 usable filters. plus any time i try anything that doesnt say plus or ⭐️ it still ends up being that anyways. when you finish editing then the tell you what youre using is extra? garbage. used to love this app when i was able to use it. i even paid for the yearly fee last year for $12. all of the suddenPrequel: Photo & Video Editor · 1star · Jul 25, 2026

DO NOT GET THE TRIAL — UPDATED: I’ve emailed them 5 times and still no response. Honestly, if I could give a 0, I would. Signed up for the trial, IMMEDIATELY cancelled and they then charged me for the membership before I even ended the trial. Customer service is 0 help and I can’t get a refund. Horrible app, horrible people.Prequel: Photo & Video Editor · 1star · Aug 16, 2026

How this is counted

Every number is arithmetic over the reviews we hold, re-counted weekly — nothing modelled, nothing scored. Themes come from a frozen pattern classifier rather than a model reading reviews, so the same review always lands in the same bucket. A shelf rate is pooled across every app here; the store rate is the same count across 12,122 apps. A complaint is only called a gap when at least half the shelf carries it and at least 20 reviews are behind it — a problem concentrated in one app is that app’s bug.
