Not that much benefit over phone’s screentime settings. — I’m two weeks in and deciding whether to sign up for the year subscription, and leaning towards no. The primary mechanism of the app is setting an intention for the apps that drive a lot of your screentime and then when you go over that intention it makes you override a guilt-inducing reminder. The intentions are number of opens and time

Not actually blocked — It’s great that there’s an option to unblock if you need something, but unlimited breaks means that nothing is actually blocked at all! Also I found that the way that the app limiting works encouraged me to use my apps more, based on a feeling of scarcity. Like, if it’s only open for five minutes each time, I’d better use it during those five minutes! I hope this is a gr

So many bugs, so little time — I used to love this app so much. With the recent update I wanted to give it a try again (because it was buggy before). I’ve always had issues with their time limits so to circumvent the issue, I do a separate rule for each app I want to limit (it’s only two, so not a big deal). With the new update, Opal is now constantly giving me a halfway there notification even wh
