I used to love this app until they added Plus — I loved this app so much and I was drawn to it since it was a one time purchase, now they have removed some of the previous features and put them behind a paywall. Upsetting

  • Focus Friend, by Hank Green2star· Aug 16, 2026

nice app but — I feel like a lot of features are locked behind pay walls…

  • Forest: Focus for Productivity2star· Jul 17, 2026

paywall ruined it — i’ve used this app since I was in middle school. I’m 26 now and it’s impossible to use without paying for something. sad to see you go.

I hate the policy — I can not understand why the app realeased a new version while it cost me just 1 year ago. I deserve using a app without any ad about your new subcription. Too disappointing

  • Forest: Focus for Productivity1star· Sep 2, 2026

Now with noisy, endless ads — Used to love this app but in the past week they turned on super noisy, lpng, violent video game ads at the end of focus sessions which defeats the entire point of the app. giving it a couple more days but if the ads don’t disappear, I’m deleting it

  • Study Bunny: Focus Timer1star· Aug 25, 2026

Horrible — Wayy too many ads I can barely see the timer without having to X out ads every second

Used to be great — I loved this app for years. I moved to a plus subscriber when that opened up to keep access. My problem is that now, I no longer have access to the specialty trees I did just a week ago. They’ve all been blocked and link me to the store page- even though I’ve purchased them from past events. Really frustrating

  • Flow: Focus & Pomodoro Timer1star· Aug 27, 2026

what is going on ? — I used to love this app so much I paid for pro, but unfortunately I will need to move on. It absolutely sucks. it is not accurate no matter how much I change the settings or contact customer support it simply can’t count a flow period. It outrageous having 8-9 hour study days just for this app to tell me I have 3 hours…. whattttttt. Last thing I want to worry about while study

  • Focus Keeper - Pomodoro Timer2star· Aug 24, 2026

Simple app ruined by monetization — I’ve been using this app for almost a decade and recently jumped back in after a year or so away and it looks like a mobile game with cluttered UI and an upsell to the subscription in every corner. It’s heartbreaking to see this app become this. Deleted.

Terrible update — I can no longer switch back to classic. The new interface is distracting and sad to say that as I longtime Pro user, I will be looking for alternatives and deleting my account as soon as I find one.

  • Flora - Green Focus2star· Sep 1, 2026

New update changed it — I LOVED this app! I got a boost of dopamine every time I finished my studying and grew a tree, and I loved the little anticipation I got when wondering what kind of tree I was growing. It helped me SO so much with executive dysfunction and eliminating distractions. I was recommending it to everyone I knew and it was awesome. However, the new update has completely changed it

  • Forest: Focus for Productivity2star· Aug 24, 2026

Edit: The new UI is SO BAD // Please. Add. More of the trees. To the COIN STORE. — Edit: Users have complained about the glitch where they have to close the app to claim their coins and still Forest is acting like it's on our end with no update patch, just telling us to 'update'. That's the problem. We did. Ontop of that, the UI is apalling. They seperated everything. // I have no incentive to use

How this is counted

Every number is arithmetic over the reviews we hold, re-counted weekly: nothing modelled, nothing scored. Themes come from a frozen pattern classifier rather than a model reading reviews, so the same review always lands in the same bucket. A market rate is pooled across every app here; the store rate is the same count across 12,743 apps. A complaint is only called a gap when at least half the market carries it, at least 20 reviews are behind it, and the market’s rate is elevated above the store’s, the same cutoff used everywhere on this site, because a problem concentrated in one app is that app’s bug, and a problem every app on the store shares is nobody’s gap.
