Inaccurate Names — Changing the names of international bodies of water based on the whims of a would-be dictator—you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Lots of errors — I used to be a long time user of Google maps – – even when I bought an iPhone, I disabled Apple Maps and downloaded Google maps instead. But lately I’ve noticed a lot of errors. Things like calling Lake Ontario Lake America instead. And labeling the Gulf of Mexico, the Gulf of America. Inaccuracy is like these really detract from their credibility. I don’t recommend. I have

Wrong information on maps — It’s Lake Ontario and Gulf of Mexico. The company is worth trillions and they can’t even make sure there maps are labeled properly.

The absolute worst Maps app‼️ — Had great use of and confidence in the prior Google Maps for years on several iPhones. This new maps version is ridiculous, cramming too much in that is so totally annoying and unnecessary. NOT user friendly, and I am good with tech! It has gotten me lost twice now since it was installed on my phone! Taking me around in circles in a freeway spaghetti bowl of a major

Off center — Why does it consistently not center the map on your location or the location you are searching for? Only on iOS does maps seem to have this problem. It always pushes your current location or the location you are searching for off center or not visible at all because it prioritizes the widget to the left side that gives you info, even if the widget isn’t open. It’s counterintuitive and

Inaccurate and unhelpful updates — I’ve been using google maps for years and it can for the most part be relied upon. But lately the moments where you need to fill in the gaps where google maps doesnt know where you are, are filled by confusing updates from the app that do nothing to make the directions more clear or accurate in moments when you are trying to navigate without looking at your phone

Who’s in it

All 11 apps counted in this market · 2026-09-02.

Apps count as part of a market for 90 days after they last appear in it. Installs are Google Play's own count, last captured 2026-09-13. 8 of 11 apps have an Android listing we could match. A dash means we could not pair the two stores, not that the app is absent from Play.

How this is counted

Every number is arithmetic over the reviews we hold, re-counted weekly: nothing modelled, nothing scored. Themes come from a frozen pattern classifier rather than a model reading reviews, so the same review always lands in the same bucket. A market rate is pooled across every app here; the store rate is the same count across 12,743 apps. A complaint is only called a gap when at least half the market carries it, at least 20 reviews are behind it, and the market’s rate is elevated above the store’s, the same cutoff used everywhere on this site, because a problem concentrated in one app is that app’s bug, and a problem every app on the store shares is nobody’s gap. This market has no full report yet, so the per-app notes are absent rather than estimated. The anger axis is counted either way: mean star of the reviews carrying each theme, from the same classifier as the counts above.
